Example Travel Letter To whom it may concern This letter is to confirm that __________ is a registered volunteer with the __________ group, a group member/affiliate of Badger Trust. Volunteers’ work includes collecting injured badgers following calls from members of the public, the police, the RSPCA, or Badger Trust and transporting them safely to veterinary care or wildlife rehabilitation centres. This work may also involve releasing badgers back into the wild once recovered or assessed. Badger rescue should only be carried out by trained and experienced individuals with appropriate safety protective equipment, both for the welfare of the animal and the individual. These activities are undertaken in line with animal welfare legislation. Volunteers have been informed they must ONLY carry out a badger rescue if, after assessing the situation in terms of animal welfare, they conclude there is no reasonable alternative. Volunteers have also been given guidance on social distancing. This includes ensuring that members of the public remain at least 2m away even after the badger has been safely caged, and to follow agreed protocol when delivering injured badgers to a vet or rehabilitation centre. Volunteers are already experienced in animal disease risk management best practice. If you have any questions, please phone the __________ group on __________ or email __________. Kind regards, __________ __________ Group
